Polishing a vintage copper pitcher with Simichrome polish

This post shows a before and after picture of a old four part molded copper pitcher made by Artistic. It was heavily tarnished. For cleaning it we used a dab of Simichrome polish about a 1/4 of an inch long, right out of the tube. We then spread it over the entire piece evenly with the finger tips of our gloved hands. At this point with 0000 steel wool, we applied ever so light pressure to help remove the tarnish. At that point we removed the remaining polish with a soft paper towel. Then we reapplied even less Simichrome over the entire surface again and buffed with a microfiber cloth. The nature of the bumpiness of this cloth made it easy to remove any polish from crevices and cracks and the detail of the top of the hinged lid of the pot. See for your self what a difference it made with out leaving any scratches to the surface. This entire procedure took less than 10 minutes. If you would like to buy some Simichrome, polishing gloves or special microfiber cloths that were used in this post, please click here to purchase them from our recommended supplier.
